5/14 期末考暨歡喜感恩親子運動會
5/14 是期末考, 更是親子運動會讓大家活絡筋骨親子互動的日子
和往年不同的是, 今年我們把表揚班上特殊表現的同學在各班由老師來頒獎, 如最佳進步, 最佳勇氣毅力, 最佳微笑, 最佳人緣, 最佳助人等等, 期待在班級進行時, 老師可以有比較多的時間跟孩子們說明得獎的事由, 讓全班的孩子都能互相鼓勵.
考完期末考, 今天也是去年停辦後再舉辦的親子運動會, 從一周前就開始祈禱天公能作美, 到了接近活動時間, 老天爺開始飄其毛毛細雨, 總策畫黃士榮爸爸特別一身教練服很有魄力地說毛毛雨沒關係, 還是維持原計畫在戶外草地上進行。11:00不到, 各班已經集合完畢, 陸續進入場地玩遊戲, 不料雨勢越來越大, 爸爸團隊很快地將活動轉入室內球場並完成遊戲設置, 孩子們繼續各項體能遊戲.
重頭戲是拔河, 拔河繩的兩端, 小小孩子
們咬著牙用力拉, 一旁的爸媽也奮力加油, 看到快輸了, 還忍不住跳下去幫忙拉, 總之, 大家都拔得很開心, 輸贏已經不重要了.
感恩策畫活動的爸爸團隊們事先有備案, 讓這個孩子們期待兩年的活動能順利完成, 更感恩所有來支援的家長, 能陪著孩子一起叫喊跑跳, 讓親子間更接近
下周六是這學年的最後一周了, 我們將在 Bellevue High School舉辦結業式, 一起回顧一年來的點滴, 一定要來喔! 下周見!

May is Appreciation month 五月感恩月暨竹筒回娘家
五月是感恩月，而母親節、浴佛節與慈濟日更是三節合一，感佛恩、親恩與眾生恩的日子！
人文學校不曾間斷地帶領孩子們行善行孝，今年將在5/7這天, 由各班老師用心帶領孩子們為家長們展示他們這一年來學習的成果，讓家長有機會跟孩子一起坐下來分享學習的喜悅，同時也跟孩子一起帶著自己的愛心竹筒回到學校來，將愛心匯聚起來幫助需要幫助的人。
親愛的家長們，您的孩子已經在4/16將他們親手製作的邀請卡帶回家了，請您務必出席這個跟孩子互動的活動，您的參與就是對孩子最大的鼓勵。
In Tzu Chi, May is a very special month and Mother's Day is also Buddha bathing day and Tzu Chi day. We are grateful for Buddha, our parents and all living beings.
On May 7th, each class teacher will lead their students to present their learning portfolios of this school year to the parents at own classroom. All students will bring back their bamboo banks to school the same day. We are going to collect all savings and put forward the money to help the needed.

Once you click the link above, please enter student's name & birthday to pull out your student's info and then you will received an email or text message which includes a designated link for your student to register, please do not share that link to non current students for your own privacy.
Submit tuition payment in check to our registrar to complete your registration. She will be at school cafeteria each Saturday.
There will be $10 discount each current student if the registration is completed with tuition payment by 4/30. There is no sibling discount.

Since Bellevue School District is still developing their school calendar for next school year, we are still waiting for their final publication of calendar before we can finalize ours.

感恩您協助華文學校聯誼會的園遊會義賣
3/12 在Interlake High School舉辦的園遊會, 提供華州各華文學校一個聯誼的機會, 今年主辦單位華校聯誼會結合僑委會漢字之美的活動, 鼓勵學生創作文字藝術並且在園遊會中展出, 鼓勵學生在中文學習上另一種成就與樂趣. 我們學校參展作品超過40件, 真的好棒!
當天還有由黃郁文老師帶領注音班的表演, 活潑可愛, 我們的孩子穿著整齊的制服演出, 端莊有禮, 真令人以學校的一員為榮。
會場中我們還提供了素食義賣, 有壽司、蘿蔔糕、紫米飯、手工餅乾, 以及手作香皂, 這些都是家長們熱心提供的, 非常感恩所有協助的家長。同時, 我們學校也提供了手工藝靜思語冰箱貼跟語彙的孩子們結緣, 小小的但是很精巧, 做起來很容易, 讓孩子們有十足的成就感! 當天我們更邀請西雅圖支會靜思小築來設攤介紹靜思產品、環保毛毯, 更藉機向會眾介紹慈濟, 邀請有緣人一起來植福緣。我們還在攤位上放了一個愛心箱為台南地震災民募款, 也有不少人響應。
感恩所有在當天協助的家長、志工、老師和學生, 或許是愛心感動天, 那天天公作美, 直到活動結束前可是一點雨都沒有, 要護持愛心滿滿的活動哩!

2016-02-13慈濟人文學校新春活動報導

長情大愛感恩存心
2016年「大愛之道廣披寰宇，長情之路古往今來」，新年活動開始。9:30
am兩位司儀(黃秀淇、鄧淑文)以輕鬆的恭賀新年手語掀開活動序幕。並帶領全校同學感恩所有用心籌備這次新春活動的60多位家長和志工，他們歷經2個半月籌畫的辛勞！2/12日晚上更有20多位志工和家長們協助佈置場地，大家共同心念就是能給孩子們一個難忘的回憶。佈置中別有雅緻的應景物——紅色小猴子，是參加慈少的同學們所做，還有書法老師為新春活動書寫的對聯“慈悲喜捨迎金猴”、“濟世救人安丙申” 都為活動現場增添不少喜氣。現場一雙雙期待和驚喜的雙眸給辛勞付出行深深注目禮。進入表演活動之前，首先觀看慈濟大藏經，讓全校的家長、老師、學生知道過去一年(2015)，慈濟在創辦人證嚴上人帶領下為苦難災民付出的身影，證嚴上人勉勵說：「我們要感恩過去的這一年，讓我們平平安安的過來；新年即將來臨，我們一定要抱著虔誠感恩，接受來年的每一天。」
嘉賓祝福校長叮嚀
今天與會來賓有駐西雅圖台北經濟文化辦事處代表紀佩汾秘書、僑教中心顏國裕主任、宏觀記者王玉鳳，還有特地從北加來的劉惟成師兄，他們都帶來新年的恭賀和祝福。黃銘銘校長致詞:祝福大家新年快樂。同時不忘提醒同學在遙遠的台灣，不久前有台南大地震，不少民眾在這意外中受傷、死亡。雖說今天是新年活動，仍然要將我們的善意、祝福傳送。全校的師生、家長、與會來賓在一處、一時、一心為台南的災難深深祈禱祝福。校長更鼓勵同學們在新的一年，人人以證嚴上人的三好「口說好話、身行好事、心發好願」作為今年淨化身心的指標，並發願做個好學生、好孩子。
好戲登場掌聲連連
過年最有氣氛的舞獅團一亮相，馬上吸住全場的目光，更吸引大家是有應景猴子人物，由注音精進班家長Alex Bertelsen打扮，隨著舞獅繞場一圈，俏皮的模樣讓小班同學驚喜不已。第二個節目:快樂小天地，由兩班注音班的同學擔綱。兩班二年級的同學以勁舞的「你是我的小蘋果」，為新春年慶點燃熱絡的火花。一動一靜是課堂重要教學模式，表演現場一動一靜也有收心穩定情緒的功能，五年級和十年級演出的「大地和風拳」在一舉手、一投足間將大家的高亢的情緒帶入舒柔。最後壓軸的好戲，由七年級八年級同學演出的應景的民歌「廟會」，其中歌詞「知足心境寬」為未來的新年祝福，心寬知足即為樂。
承接 證嚴上人的祝福
每一個福慧紅包都滿載著 證嚴上人無量的感恩與祝福, 而每年的設計皆有其時代與歷史的背景意義, 今年是慈濟
50 周年, 每個紅包上都有 50 周年紀念幣。同學依序出列從銘銘校長,慧婷副校長以及代理負責人蘇秉鏗三位手中接過這具有深刻祝福的福慧紅包，在未來朝累積福德和智慧的平安年前進。
迎春大觀園趣味無窮
用心籌備這次新春活動的60多位家長和志工，都有一個單純的願求:
給孩子們一個難忘的回憶。所以各各遊戲攤趣味橫生: 「開心家庭大排擋」、「仙草蜜」，一開鑼就大排長龍，等候品嚐美味的家長和學生。掌握時機的學生先玩再吃吧！穿遊在「全民大運動-投籃」、「乾坤一擲 Pokeball Bounce」、「功夫足球」、「Banana
Hunt」、「喜羊羊 Sheepvana」、「有你真好
Angry Birds」「套圈圈」之間，口渴了再回去「仙草蜜」攤，喝仙草蜜或到「橘子」攤拿橘子解渴然後再玩。「十二生肖」攤，也是一攤挑戰站，學生依序輪流隨音樂走在十二生肖圖上，音樂停主持人抽十二生肖圖，若抽到剛好是自己所站的圖像，能得到一枝大大的棒棒糖，據說有同學為得到這"戰品，竟連續玩三、四回！有些同學直接到「咬文嚼字」，這攤的”咬文嚼字”可比課堂的容易多了，沒有同音異字的選題、沒有部首的拼圖測驗，只有甜甜、酥酥的咬、嚼，嗯！真好吃！更有些同學到「春到人間」、「春聯樂 (寫春聯)」試煉一下自己習得的書法功力。小小班的同學一頭選定「俊男美女-畫臉」站，讓十年級的大哥哥和大姊姊在他們的臉上或手上留下美麗的圖案。「步步高升」、「環保釣魚 Green Fishing」、「猴氣生財 Monkey Toss」也是同學佇足留戀的攤位。更有同學不理人聲沸騰，專心致意的和老師或志工來一盤「五子棋」，寧靜致遠的心志了不得！有一攤是家長光顧專區「食物義賣」攤。攤位的內容豐富且口味超好，有核桃紅豆糕、發糕、素粽、紅燒烤麩、蘿蔔糕、芋頭酥及綠豆椪。每項都是家長發心製作，不論是現場售賣或是之前的預購都是得到滿滿讚頌的口碑，雖不是專業，但都是百分百的用心。
歡欣感恩送實質善意
下課鈴響了！原來是11:50分的集合鈴聲。一場歡天喜地的新春活動漸入尾聲，同學雖還意猶未盡，但終得跟每攤遊戲站說聲感謝和再見。首次來參加活動的家長 (Travis Clarke)，對於新春活動覺得很有趣味，尤其是舞獅的表演印象極好。小班的kloie Paulson更是興高采烈地展現她的勝利獎品 ，難掩的喜悅仍盈盪在心中，這正是一群努力兩個多月籌畫的家長、志工們最最歡喜聽到的回饋。歡喜和感恩有平安順遂的環境和人事，全校師生、家長、志工將這份福氣化為實質行動，將今天所得的善款 $1,600 + $500 食品義賣, 還有Microsoft match program $260，全數捐作台南地震救災用途，希望這份實質的善心、誠意代表我們真誠的關切和祝福。

因目前的校地將於暑假間開始拆除重建，於下學年度起（九月）本校將暫時遷往Ringdall Jr. High School in Bellevue.

特別感恩Wendy 媽媽和啟榮爸爸, 他們兩位都是中醫師, 每年他們都會帶著他們的一群好夥伴, 也是我們的家長, 一起提供年節食品給全校學生品嘗, 這兩年我們的家長也跟進品嘗的隊伍, 使得場面更熱鬧, 也加重了他們的工作量. 深深的感恩這群香積菩薩在簡陋的"廚房"毫無怨尤, 默默的為大家服務. 尤其今年由於我的疏忽, 請大家帶環保碗筷的宣導有點匆促, 因此成效不大, 以致剛開始時食物區的場面有點失控, 很對不起大家, 下次我們一起努力改進. 讓我們每年都可以繼續享受美食, 又可貼心的照顧到食品攤位的家長以及事後洗碗筷的志工.
感恩的話說不盡, 附上活動精彩畫面, 家長們在為孩子的表演感到驕傲之時, 也為自己攤位的演出自傲一下吧 ! 校方感恩也需要每一位的繼續護持.
對了, 昨天舞獅臨時跑出來的那隻逗趣的猴子是Alex 爸爸, 他是我們學校的大寶貝 ! 感恩他每年都會設計出新的遊戲, 讓孩子們很興奮.
感恩大家護持食品義賣, 也感恩大家慷慨解囊援助台南地震救災, 昨天我們募得 $1,600,
加上食品義賣 $500. 還有
Microsoft Match Program $260, 再加上我們全校親師生的虔心祈禱, 祈望能稍緩鄉親的憂愁, 共聚福緣, 轉災禍為平安 !
募款持續中, 二月的每個星期六我們都會有捐款箱在學校餐廳的行政辦公桌, 請大家把愛心付諸行動, 讓我們的鄉親們感受遠方的我們送去的溫暖與滿滿祝福.

Dear Parents of Tzu Chi Academy Seattle
Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope that everyone had
a fun event at school yesterday. You must be very proud of your student’s
performance. Big thanks to all the teachers and helping parents who led the
students to chant Chinese poems, sing songs, cultivating Qigong and Lion dance.
We had 20 booths provided by 64 parents, 24 TAs
and 20 teachers in addition to all staff volunteers. They met weekly to plan the
games, build the stations, and purchase all goodies over two months, all for
the students of the school. What a great love from them!
I would also like to show my sincere gratitude
to Wendy and her husband, both Chinese medicine practitioners, and their team
who have supported and provided free food for the whole school kids during new
year events in past five years. And they are still very passionate about their
offers. We thank and love you, Wendy team!
Another parent that kids love the most is Alex
who started making Angry bird two years ago, then he invented new game each
year. I believe all kids played and loved his games. Thank you Alex, such an
amazingly handy, creative and fun dad to have,
On side of fun activities and booths, we had a
successful food sale fundraising yesterday. We made $500 from food sale and
received $1600 donation plus $260 Microsoft matching for the victims of Taiwan
earthquake happened about 9 days ago. Thanks for your kindness, caring and
sharing.
We will continue accepting donation for Taiwan
and praying for the peace in the world! Again, have a great Valentine ’s Day
and see you all next Saturday for thank you party at school cafeteria at
10:00 am.
